As you move outside of your comfort zone, what was once the unknown and frightening becomes your new normal.” — Robin S. Sharma

Whether you’re soul searching, gaining experience or just out to have a good time, you need to experience solo travel at least once in your life.

Here are some solo destination locations that the lonely traveler will love:

New York City – USA

The city where dreams are made of, which is ironic because New York is the city that never sleeps. It’s impossible to get bored in New York because there’s something to do on every corner and a place to eat at on every street.

NYC houses one of the biggest film industries in the world, so be prepared to bump into some of the biggest names in Hollywood, or unintentionally turn up on set for a new movie being shot. The number of times that people have accidentally made it to the big screen by just being an innocent bystander is countless.

Aside from star searching, you can also watch a Broadway show. Not a single night goes by when the big apple isn’t running a ballet, opera, concert, or musical. Plus, New York has one of the strongest Jewish influences of all the States, making it an ideal destination for Jewish trips. Finding a Kosher restaurant will be as easy as locating a Starbucks.

Mykonos – Greece

This hidden island off the coast of Greece slowly made its way into the mainstream scene after videos of tourists skydiving into the beach made an appearance on social media. Internet users were intrigued by what hid behind the mighty limestone rock formations, and the views did not disappoint.

Mykonos boasts powder white sand beaches and turquoise blue water. You could be 50 feet away from the shoreline and still be able to see the ocean floor because of how clear the waters are.

Mykonos has great weather all year round but its best to visit during Shoulder Season — May and June, September and early October — pleasant warm weather with barely any tourists around.

Lesotho – South Africa

What’s interesting about this city is that it inspired Black Panther’s ‘Wakanda.’ You don’t have to worry about traveling to this part of Africa because Lesotho is considered a haven from political turmoil.

It’s best to backpack through this region because Lesotho is like one big nature reserve. For travelers who enjoy the great outdoors, mark this South African town on your map. If you’re up for the challenge, make your way up the Gates of Paradise Pass. It’s a rough road, but the tranquility you receive from the top more than makes up for it.

Battambang – Cambodia

This sleepy city is the laid-back traveler’s best friend. Battambang is known as the country’s creative capital, so you’ll find many emerging contemporary artists and artworks in this city.

Aside from the cultural experience from this part of town, there’s plenty to do in the Metropolitan areas as well. Battambang is dotted with many shopping districts, boutiques, restaurants, and pubs.

Just because the locals are laid back, doesn’t mean that the scene is. You don’t have to worry about the lack of Jewish travel options in Cambodia, because Kosher River Cruises will take care of it.

Kosher River Cruises is a great place for solo travelers to embark on their first adventure as a lone wolf. For more information on our cruise packages and tour excursions, feel free to leave us a message. We’ll be more than happy to assist you.
