Picnic Set

A simple recipe for tea time or for a nice day trip. On our next set of recipes we will have some nice ideas for the 9 days.

PICNIC SLICES

 Ingredients;

  • 8oz plain or milk cooking chocolate
  • 2oz butter
  • 4oz caster sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 4oz desiccated coconut
  • 2oz sultanas
  • 2oz glace cherries
  1. Grease a Swiss Roll tin.
  2.  Set oven to 300F or Mark 2.
  3.  Break chocolate into pieces and place in bowl over hot water.
  4. When melted, pour into bottom of Swiss Roll tin and leave to set.
  5. Cream butter and sugar; add egg, coconut, sultanas and chopped cherries.
  6. Mix well and spread evenly over chocolate.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Leave to cool then cut into slices with a sharp knife.

Our experience was unique in that we were able to tour a lot of territory and a variety of places with minimal inconvenience. The fact that our boat was always with us and there were no long bus rides or waits made this mode of travel extremely enjoyable.
