Lok Lak (Cambodian Beef Stew)
Ingredients:
- 2 lb Stewing Beef
- 8 oz Beef Stock
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 2 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp kosher Chinese rice white
- 3 tbsp dark soy
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
Method:
- Combine the beef with the sugar, the pepper, the garlic powder, soy sauce, salt and corn starch
- Leave the marinading beef in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Place in an ovenproof pot, add the rice wine and the stock and bring to the boil, making sure the beef is covered.
- Then cover the pot and place in a pre-heated oven at 370 degrees fo 2 ½ – 3 hours
- Serve on creamed potatoes.
