In Cochin, glide through tranquil lagoons and explore the oldest Jewish settlement in India. Then, cross the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka, where ancient fortresses, lush tea plantations, and thrilling safaris await.
From spotting flamingos in Bundala Wetlands to leopards in Yala National Park, from walking the ramparts of Galle Fortress to exploring the colonial elegance of Colombo, this journey is a feast for the senses and the soul.

Day 1 (Mo): Welcome to Mumbai – Gateway to Adventure
Arrive in the vibrant city of Mumbai, where your unforgettable journey begins. Transfer to your luxurious all-suite KRC Expeditions Ship and settle in with welcome drinks and a delicious kosher dinner as we moor overnight in this dazzling metropolis.
Day 2 (Tu): Mumbai - A City of Contrasts and Cultures
Explore the dynamic energy of Mumbai, a city built on seven islands and steeped in history. Visit iconic landmarks including the Gateway of India, Mani Bhavan (Gandhi’s former residence), and the bustling Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest open-air laundry.
For those seeking ancient wonders, an optional excursion to Elephant Island reveals a labyrinth of UNESCO-listed cave temples adorned with intricate carvings dating back to the 5th century.
Jewish Mumbai: Discover the rich legacy of Mumbai’s Jewish community, which dates back over 500 years. Visit the Jewish Quarter, explore historic synagogues, and uncover stories of Sephardic settlers who helped shape the city’s cultural mosaic.
Day 3 (We): Goa – Spices, Stories & Sun-Kissed Shores
Step ashore in Goa, where Portuguese colonial charm meets Indian soul. Wander through Old Goa, marvel at its unique architecture, and visit a lush spice plantation to learn about the cultivation of cardamom, chili, cloves, and coriander — a feast for the senses!
Jewish Goa: Uncover the hidden history of Sephardic Jews who fled the Inquisition and lived as Crypto-Jews. Though much of their heritage was lost, modern efforts are reviving this buried legacy, and the Goa Jewish Center offers a glimpse into the community’s present-day life.
Day 4 (Th): Mangalore – Trade, Tradition & Tantalizing Tastes
Arrive in Mangalore, a city shaped by centuries of trade and conquest. From Persian merchants to Portuguese colonists and Tipu Sultan’s resistance, its layered history is reflected in its vibrant culture and diverse religions.
Enjoy a guided city tour, then visit a cashew plantation to see how one of India’s most prized exports is cultivated. Mangalore is also a major coffee and spice hub — a perfect place to savor the flavors of the region.
Day 5 (Fr): Cochin – Cultures Collide on the Malabar Coast
Welcome to Cochin, a city where centuries of global influence converge — Portuguese, Chinese, Arab, Dutch, and British legacies are woven into its vibrant streets and waterfronts. Over two days, we’ll dive deep into this fascinating port city.
Cruise through the tranquil Kerala backwaters in Alleppey aboard a traditional boat, gliding past colonial warehouses, coconut-thatched homes, and lush greenery. Watch kettuvallams (barges) carry spices and rice as they have for generations, and soak in the peaceful rhythm of life along the canals.
Explore Mattancherry Palace, famed for its exquisite murals and ornate rooms, and stroll through bustling spice markets and historic quarters. In the evening, enjoy a mesmerizing Kathakali dance performance on board — a dramatic art form native to Kerala, inspired by epic tales from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Jewish Cochin: Step into Jew Town, home to one of the oldest Jewish communities in India. Visit the stunning Paradesi Synagogue, built in 1568, with its Chinese tiles, Belgian chandeliers, and ancient Torah scrolls; and the 17th century Chendamangalam Synagogue. Discover the peaceful coexistence of Jews, Hindus, and Christians in this charming enclave, and feel the enduring warmth of a community whose legacy spans over a thousand years.
Day 6 (Sa): Shabbat in Cochin
Spend a peaceful and meaningful Shabbat docked in Cochin, surrounded by new friends and familiar faces. Enjoy the serenity of the day aboard the MS Island Sky, with time to relax, reflect, and connect. Optional afternoon guided walking tour. As evening falls, gather for a magical Havdalah ceremony, marking the transition from a day of rest to the excitement of the journey ahead. With candles flickering and song in the air, we set sail under the stars toward Galle.
Day 7 (Su): At Sea – Recharge & Reflect
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea as we sail toward Sri Lanka. Take in the ocean views, attend onboard lectures, indulge in Glatt kosher cuisine, and prepare for the next chapter of our adventure.
Day 8 (Mo): Galle – Fortress of Time
Arrive in Galle, a coastal gem steeped in colonial history. Join a walking tour of the UNESCO-listed Galle Fortress, where Portuguese and Dutch architecture lines cobbled streets and shaded courtyards. Visit the maritime museum, admire the lighthouse, and soak in the old-world charm.
In the afternoon, choose to explore Galle at your own pace or join a guided visit to a tea plantation, where you’ll learn about Sri Lanka’s iconic tea industry and enjoy a tasting amid lush hills.
Day 9 (Tu): Hambantota – Wild Sri Lanka Awaits
From Hambantota, embark on thrilling safaris into two of Sri Lanka’s most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries.
Bundala National Park: A paradise for birdwatchers, this Ramsar wetland is home to flamingos, crocodiles, elephants, and nearly 200 bird species. Traverse its diverse landscapes — from salt marshes to mangroves — on a guided jeep safari.
Yala National Park: One of the best places in the world to spot leopards, Yala also hosts sloth bears, jackals, wild boar, and elephants. With over 44 mammal species and 215 bird varieties, this is a nature lover’s dream.
Day 10 (We): Colombo – A City of Layers
Arrive in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling capital. Discover its colonial past and modern flair on a city tour featuring the National Museum, Independence Square, and elegant shopping arcades housed in historic buildings.
Jewish Colombo: Though small, Colombo’s Jewish community has ancient roots, with trade links dating back to the 9th century. Today, Chabad of Sri Lanka serves as a hub for Jewish travelers, offering kosher food, a synagogue, and a warm welcome in the heart of the city.
