Dr. Samuel Soffer is a pediatric surgeon at Northwell Health- Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY.  Dr Soffer trained at Columbia University Medical Center about 20 years ago and when not operating on babies he developed a passion for fine kosher wine. He recently completed the Wine and Spirit Education Trust’s Level 3-degree (WSET 3) partaking in the first kosher version of this course ever given. He was one of a small handful of people to successfully complete this rigorous course. Dr Soffer has developed a following on social media and his wine recommendations are sought out on multiple venues. He has a particular passion for French wine and is thrilled to share his Bordeaux expertise on our river boat adventure. 

Zev Steinberg (WSET certified) has a background in Non-Profit and distressed asset management. A lifelong wine enthusiast, Zev transformed his passion into a full-time profession in recent years, launching WINE WITH ZEV, a concierge kosher wine service. WINE WITH ZEV offers customized cellar curation and private tastings, corporate and fundraising events, and kosher wine tourism. His vast network across the US, Israel and Europe allows him to source rare and prized wines for discerning collectors while leveraging his deep professional relationships to source highly sought after and allocated releases. Zev’s mission is to foster community through wine and to educate on the expanding market of premium kosher wines in a way that is practical, accessible and FUN for wine drinkers of all levels. Through his extensive travels and events, Zev has built a reputation as a trusted social connector and community builder, bridging kosher communities across continents and facilitating new friendships through the shared love of wine.
